From 19 to 23 September, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Gabrielius Landsbergis is attending the seventy-seventh session of the United Nations General Assembly. During his visit to New York as part of the delegation led by the President of Lithuania Gitanas Nausėda, Landsbergis will attend the general debate under the theme, “A watershed moment: transformative solutions to interlocking challenges”, and other high-level events of the 77th session of the General Assembly.

On September 14, Lithuanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Gabrielius Landsbergis together with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Defense of Ireland, Simon Coveney, visited Odesa (Ukraine), where they met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Dmytro Kuleba. At the meeting, G. Landsbergis emphasized the necessity to ensure the safety of the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant in order to avoid a nuclear catastrophe in Europe. To achieve this, complete expulsion of the Russian occupation forces, with the help of the international community and coalition of the willing is needed.

On 14 September, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Gabrielius Landsbergis visited Chisinau, Moldova, where he met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of Moldova Nicu Popescu and pledged strong support for Moldova’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. Landsbergis said that Lithuania remained ready to continue its humanitarian support for refugees in Moldova.

After the Nordic-Baltic Eight (NB8) Foreign Ministers' meeting, which kicked off on 6 September in Kaunas, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Gabrielius Landsbergis stressed that the current challenges facing both the Nordic-Baltic neighbourhood and the entire world, required a focused response, which was possible only by maintaining unity, as well as by coordinating positions and actions at both regional and international levels.

On 6 September in Vilnius, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Gabrielius Landsbergis met with the Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Spanish Congress Pau Mari-Klose. The meeting focused on bilateral relations between Lithuania and Spain, the response to Russia's aggression against Ukraine, support for the unified Belarusian opposition, the region's security situation and security challenges related to ensuring energy security.

On 6-7 September, the Nordic-Baltic Eight (NB8) Foreign Ministers will meet in Kaunas to discuss the issues of strengthening regional security, Russia’s military aggression against Ukraine, support for Ukraine, energy security in the region, the impact of global economic challenges on the countries of the region, prospects for closer cooperation with the Indo-Pacific democracies, preparations for the upcoming United Nations General Assembly, and other issues of importance for the region.
