Czechoslovakia recognized Lithuania de jure on 5 January 1922.

Czechoslovakia recognized the re-established independent State of Lithuania on 29 August 1991.

On 9 September, 1991, diplomatic relations were established.

Lithuania recognized the Czech Republic after the dissolution of Czechoslovakia on 5 January 1993.

Diplomatic relations with the Czech Republic were established on 6 January 1993.

From 1992 to 1994, Chargé d’Affaires Edvardas Borisovas served as the first Lithuanian representative to the Czech Republic after the re-establishment of independence.

From 1992 to 1994, Juraj Nemeš   served as the first Ambassador of Czechoslovakia to Lithuania.
