Passport of the Republic of Lithuania

His/her parents can order a Passport for a  child 1-24 months old. In all the other cases, child’s participation is necessary.

Regarding issuance/renewal of ID card or passport, please bring the following documents to the Embassy:

  1. Valid identity document (Lithuanian Passport, ID card (for Canadian citizen - Canadian passport);
  2. A prepaid Canada Post Xpresspost envelope (for shipping within Canada from the Embassy in Ottawa to your noted address) for shipping of passport, ID card or its password certificate. If you do not come to collect the document in person (bring 2 additional envelopes if you also are ordering ID card). Each person must have separate envelope for his/her passport - we do not send passports of family member in one envelope. If you want to collect the document in person, please notify the Embassy by phone +1 613-567-5458.
  3. Consular fee can be paid by debit or credit card. If paying by certified bank check – recipient is Embassy of Lithuania. Embassy does not accept cash or personal checks. Consular fees can be found here.

The validity of the passport from the date of issue specified therein is:

  • 2 years if the passport is issued to a citizen under 5 years of age;
  • 5 years if issued to a citizen aged 5 to 16 years;
  • 10 years if issued to a citizen aged 16 or over;
  • 12 months, when no citizen's fingerprints can be read temporarily.

Passport/ID card issuance can take up to 1.5 months from your visit until you receive your passport to the address you specify.

Along with the a new passport or ID card you will receive a receipt and form which will has to be filled out and send to the Embassy in Ottawa by email or mail.

Once we will receive the completed notice form, we will activate you passport and it will become valid – you are going to be informed about this by email.
